VOOPOO DRAG 6: How to Change the Coil (and Which PnP X Coil to Use)
Step-by-step coil changes for the DRAG 6's UFORCE-X Tank II, plus every PnP X coil and its official wattage range.

The VOOPOO DRAG 6 ships with the UFORCE-X Tank II, a top-fill tank holding 5ml (2ml in TPD regions) that uses VOOPOO’s PnP X coils. Here’s how to swap a coil cleanly and which coil to choose.
Lock or switch off the device, and work over a paper towel. Check your own manual too — kit contents can vary by region.
How to change the coil on the DRAG 6
- Empty the tank, or at least drain it below the coil.
- Unscrew the tank from the mod’s 510 connection.
- Turn the tank upside down and unscrew the base section from the glass section.
- Pull the old coil out of the base. It’s a push-fit, so a firm, straight pull does it.
- Push the new PnP X coil in until it seats fully. A half-seated coil is a common cause of leaks.
- Reassemble the tank and screw it back onto the mod.
- Fill from the top and leave a little air space.
- Prime it: let the coil soak for 5–10 minutes before firing, then start at the bottom of the coil’s wattage range. Full method: how to prime a coil.
Which PnP X coil should you use?
VOOPOO’s official wattage ranges for the PnP X coils listed for the DRAG 6:
| Coil | Wattage range | Style | In the box? |
|---|---|---|---|
| PnP X 0.15Ω | 60–80W | DTL | Yes |
| PnP X 0.2Ω | 40–60W | DTL | Sold separately |
| PnP X 0.3Ω | 32–40W | DTL / RDL | Yes |
| PnP X 0.45Ω | 25–32W | RDL | Sold separately |
| PnP X 0.6Ω | 18–23W | RDL / MTL | Sold separately |
| PnP X 0.8Ω | 12–16W | MTL | Sold separately |
| PnP X 1.0Ω | 10–13W | MTL | Sold separately |
Not sure which style you want? Read MTL vs DTL. DTL coils pair with high-VG, low-nicotine liquid — see PG vs VG.
How often should you change the coil?
VOOPOO says PnP X coils can last through 100ml of e-liquid; real life varies with power, liquid (sweet liquids wear coils faster) and how much you vape. Change it when you notice a burnt or muted taste, less vapour, or gurgling that cleaning doesn’t fix.
Troubleshooting after a coil change
- Burnt first hit: the coil wasn’t fully primed or the power is too high.
- Leaking: the coil isn’t fully seated or the base isn’t tight — see why is my vape leaking?
- “No atomizer” or not firing: reseat the coil and tank, and wipe the 510 connection.
