Our take, on paperSpec preview

On paper, this is what a high-end boro should be: a proper Evolv chip, real build materials and a tank you don't have to rebuild unless you want to.

On paper: strengths

  • Evolv DNA80C chipset (EScribe compatible)
  • 1–80W with Variable Wattage, Replay and Boost modes
  • Shift Boro tank uses replaceable VC Tech coils — no building required
  • 3A fast charging over USB-C

On paper: questions

  • Single 18650 not included
  • Boro-tank and bridge compatibility worth confirming for your setup
  • Premium price for a single-cell device

Boro devices used to mean one thing: a hand-built rebuildable bridge, a lot of patience and a bit of a learning curve. The San AIO from Vaperz Cloud (made with Gerobak) keeps the boro format but starts you off with something friendlier — a Shift Boro tank that takes ordinary replaceable coils.

The chip

This is the headline. Vaperz Cloud specifies Evolv’s DNA80C, with 1–80W output and Variable Wattage, Replay and Boost modes, and EScribe compatibility for those who like to tinker in software as well as hardware. Evolv chips are the reason high-end mods feel consistent — on paper, this is a big step up from generic boards.

Build and tank

The body is CNC aluminium alloy, 78 × 52 × 23.7mm, running a single high-drain 18650 (not included). The kit ships with the Shift Boro tank and VC Tech coils in 0.4Ω (installed) and 0.2Ω, plus an integrated BB-thread drip tip. Charging is USB-C at 3A.

Who it’s for

Experienced vapers who want boro-format hardware and a premium chip without committing to coil building on day one. New to boro? Start with how to choose an AIO and coil resistance explained, and read battery basics before using external 18650s.

What we’ll be checking

  • How Replay mode behaves day to day
  • Flavour from the Shift tank versus a rebuildable bridge
  • Battery life on a single 18650 at 0.2Ω
