Vaporesso XROS Pro 2 vs XROS 6: Which One Should You Buy?
Same pods, different priorities: the XROS 6 charges faster and weighs less; the Pro 2 has the bigger battery and screen.

The XROS 6 and XROS PRO 2 are Vaporesso’s two main current XROS devices, and they take exactly the same pods. That’s good news: you can’t really pick the “wrong” one, because the pod you put in changes the vape far more than the device does. The real differences are battery, charging speed, screen, controls and size. Here’s how they compare, based on Vaporesso’s published specifications.
The short version
- Get the XROS PRO 2 if battery life and fine control matter most: 2000mAh, a bigger screen, power modes and 0.5W adjustment with its 0.4Ω/0.6Ω pods.
- Get the XROS 6 if you want the faster-charging, lighter device that feels like the classic XROS out of the box (0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods included).
- Both take every current XROS pod, including 0.4Ω, so you can tune either one to taste.

Two things stand out. The PRO 2 is shorter but heavier, a stubbier device with a bigger battery. The XROS 6 is longer but lighter, with a much faster charging spec if you have a compatible fast charger.
Battery and charging
On paper the PRO 2’s 2000mAh battery is about 11% bigger than the XROS 6’s 1800mAh. In practice, battery life depends far more on which pod you use: a 1.2Ω pod draws much less power than a 0.4Ω pod, so a XROS 6 running a high-resistance pod could outlast a PRO 2 running 0.4Ω.
Charging is where the XROS 6 pulls ahead. Vaporesso lists support for 9V/2A or 5V/3A input, so with a suitable fast charger it should refill noticeably quicker than the PRO 2’s 5V/2A. With an ordinary 5V phone charger the difference narrows. If you’re often caught short mid-day, faster charging can matter as much as capacity.
Screen and controls
Both have small colour TFT screens; the PRO 2’s is slightly larger at 0.96 inches. The bigger control difference is power. The PRO 2 offers ECO, Normal and Power modes and, with its own 0.4Ω and 0.6Ω pods, lets you adjust output in 0.5W steps. That suits people who like to fine-tune flavour or warmth. The XROS 6 sets power from the pod you insert and keeps menus simpler, which suits people who want to fill it and forget it.
The draw out of the box
This is the difference most people actually notice. The XROS 6 ships with 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods: the 0.8Ω gives the classic, fairly tight mouth-to-lung XROS draw, and the 0.6Ω is a little looser. The PRO 2 ships with 0.4Ω and 0.6Ω pods, which lean warmer and looser, towards restricted-lung vaping, with more vapour. If you’re new to the terms, see MTL vs DTL (and RDL).
Because both take the full XROS pod range, this isn’t permanent. Put a 0.8Ω or 1.0Ω pod in the PRO 2 and it becomes an MTL device; put a 0.4Ω pod in the XROS 6 and it opens up. Our XROS pods guide explains every resistance.
Leaks and day-to-day ownership
Vaporesso highlights “SSS 2.0” leak-resistant design on the XROS 6. We haven’t tested either device, so we can’t tell you yet whether one leaks less than the other in daily use. With any pod, the usual causes are overfilling, a loose filler plug, and pods at the end of their life. See why is my vape leaking? for fixes that apply to both.
Choose the XROS PRO 2 if…
- Battery life is your top priority and you vape a lot through the day.
- You like a warmer, looser draw with more vapour, at least as it comes.
- You want power modes and fine 0.5W adjustment.
- You prefer a shorter device and don’t mind a few extra grams.
Choose the XROS 6 if…
- You want the fastest charging and have (or will buy) a compatible fast charger.
- You want the classic tight XROS MTL draw out of the box.
- You’d rather have the lighter device and simpler controls.
- You’re moving from disposables and want something close to “fill it and forget it”.
What we’ll check when we test them
These are spec-based conclusions. When we get both devices in hand, we’ll look at real battery life on the same pod, charging time with ordinary and fast chargers, leaking over a few weeks, how consistent the draw feels between pods, and whether the PRO 2’s extra controls are actually useful day to day. See how we review.
FAQ
Do the XROS 6 and XROS PRO 2 use the same pods?
Yes. Both are compatible with the whole XROS pod series, including the 0.4Ω pod.
Which has better battery life?
The PRO 2 has the bigger battery (2000mAh vs 1800mAh), but the pod resistance you use affects real battery life more than that difference.
Which charges faster?
On paper, the XROS 6: it supports 9V/2A or 5V/3A input versus 5V/2A on the PRO 2. You need a compatible charger to get the full speed.
Is either good for nicotine salts?
Both are typically used with nicotine salts on higher-resistance pods (0.8Ω–1.2Ω). At 0.4Ω–0.6Ω, many people use lower-strength liquid. See nicotine salt vs freebase.
How do they compare with the VOOPOO ARGUS G4?
The ARGUS G4 takes a different approach, with one cartridge that switches between three resistances. See XROS PRO 2 vs ARGUS G4.
